2.2.2012 - New Releases on Form and Structure digital label
1.1.2012 - Welcome 2012
Void Tactical wishes all out allies the best in 2012, as we continue our support of critical media and alternative formations. It was solid to see everyone out at Excession in Detroit, and has been inspiring to be back in town for this solstice season and see all the development going on in the many vectors of the Detroit community. 2012 promises to be a dynamic year, with releases from Redrot, Intergalacterrorist, WMX, Adjust, Split Horizon, and Dimentia scheduled before the summer. We'll also be releasing Metria's knock-out set from excession on a limited release ASAP, writing more material for the Dancing Star, and putting together Void's first ever European Tour.
We feel with each passing day that we are drawing closer to an apocolyptic science fiction future. Oppose SOPA, and shake up control - support open transfer of information and the ethos of automony. Becoming the future means making a choice.
12.15.2011 - Excession
11.20.2011 - Detroit Void Party Upcoming!!! Dec17th

11.3.2011 - Dancing Star #2 : A Consistent Basis
We've been inspired by the campouts in city center's nationwide to write a short and sweet treatment of the ethics of autonomy for Dancing Star #12. Read here: The Dancing Star : A Consistent Basis and please share. The project of how to live is the most important project any of us can undertake, and anyone willing to grapple hands-on is to be commended.
8.22.2011 - Form & Structure 003 - JStat - Out Now!
Form and Structure 003 - Jstat - Reaction Formation EP by void tactical media
Jstat is John Leonard, and he's been busy this year. You may know him through his budding career as a graphic designer, or possibly through this work with the Imagination Station on a certain Robocop Statue, but anyone hanging around Void for the last 5 years knows that his deep work has been in the studio. Form and Structure #3 catches up on a vast catalog of unreleased material, contrasting the brooding Reaction Formation with a slammin' broken techno delivery via Positive Feedback Loop. One of the core contributors to Void's sound, Jstat moves the dancefloor with hybrid rhythms only Detroit can produce. With slick album artwork provided by Ogo Eion and high quality digital mastering by Ryan Friederich aka Xanopticon, Form and Structure delivers once again. It's time to lend this one an ear…
Check out Form & Structure digital label for more info OR download uncompressed tracks from bandcamp at http://voidtacticalmedia.bandcamp.com.

6.7.2011 - FULL LINEUP for the Somatic Responses party on July 8t
We are very pleased announce the FULL LINEUP for the Somatic Responses party on July 8th. Bringing together a solid slate of both local and out of town artists, this will be night of slamming electronic music with no filler. Somatic's contorted bass manifestations are supported by twisted broken acid from Exillon (Oakland), hybrid beats from WMX (LA), and broken bass from Intergalacterrorist (Portland). Wet Mango joins us from LA to spice things up with her quirky breakcore on roller skates, while Vankman provides the hardcore backbone for this party celebrating Somatic's diverse influences on electronic music. Keeping true to the Void sound, Void Tactical Media's Split Horizon and Dimentia come through with signature hard broken bass frequencies. Rounding everything out, Intoner makes all the right choices from his deep crate while Xanopticon caps off the night with his phenomenal assault of beats and sonics. This is one packed lineup, and you won't want to miss a minute of it. Going off on Friday July 8th, somewhere in Oakland CA, we'll see you there!!
For those that use FB here's the FB Event or follow Void Tactical on twitter if that's how you get your news! Full details also will be revealed on our site for the event so check up and keep in touch! Thanks as always for your support in making ever bigger and better efforts possible.
5.31.2011 - Somatics party coming up fast July 8th!!!!
Our party with Somatic Responses on July 8th is coming up FAST. We'll have the full lineup posted in a day or too, it's looking to be an absolute smash. We are lining up a solid soundsystem with ample bass to give this party the sonic power it requires. Any newcomers to Somatics broken bass pionnering work should check their soundcloud for newer material, or start digging through their extensive discography for the sonics and beats that have inspired many a label, including Void Tactical! Check back here soon for more info!
Also worth a serious mention is the killer turnout and sets at the Waves and Radiation party a week ago. Thanks to everyone that came out, great sets from our Pittsburgh allies, killer sound from POD, and monumental local support. Here's to the next time!
5.11.2011 - RHINOPLEX and then SOMATICS!!
Summer in the SFBay is off to a great starta with two killer parties coming up fast. First, Rhinoplex joins forces with FTG and Void in the bay to bring you 'The Last Party Before the Rapture.' Bottomlined by Heather and leveraging the bass power of POD Soundsystem, May 20th is an event not be missed. Harkening back to our parties at From the Gut in Detroit, we're absolutely stoked to see our midwestern crew come together on the West Coast. Then, on July 8th, Void Tactical Media hosts Somatic Responses is what is doubtless to be a knock out event. Full lineup and location info is still TBA, but mark your calendars!!
3.5.2011 - Killx8: Remax
Next up on From & Structure, FS002 manifests as a strong release from Void stalwart Killx8. Always performing in disguise, in full ninja garb, many have wondered just who exactly this masked figure is. One thing is for sure though: whether in his sets or in his recorded material Killx8 delivers some of the best modern hard broken acid there is to find. On this release we see a more varied approach as Killx8 shows of his on point production skills remixing Void Tactical artists. Killx8 takes one of Jstat's first tracks on wax (from VTCL001) and reworks it's cold machinery into a true dancefloor destroyer. He also digs deep, surfacing an often performed, but never released, Split Horizon track and remixing it with his signature breakcore translated beat structures. A treatment of Dimentia's Konstrain, released on Void008, rounds out the release, a playful but hard-hitting Chicane remix adds a touch of humor and the opening track gives us a window into what is to come from Killx8's own production. Don't miss this release and get ready to hear more from Killx8!

10.9.2010 - x24: core and extent
It's mid autumn and time to get to work. Coming up, Void Tactical Media presents 'x24' - a double event between SFBay and Detroit. First announcement for the dance party on the west coast is out: check here for details. Long time friend Additiv makes the trip from Berlin, Vasculator from Pittsburgh and Diskore from LA. Dimentia, Split Horizon, Xanopticon, and Intoner back it up for a thanksgiving eve (Nov 24th). x24 Detroit is new years eve, with RMS, Vasculator, Xanopticon, Split Horizon and a further TBA lineup. Between these events, impending annoucement of Form and Structure, and upcoming digital distribution Void Tactical Media is set to storm the base this fall.
6.5.2010 - Early Summer
Early finds us busy and hard at work, and it's time for a quick update about our upcoming activities in June. On the 19th, Split Horizon plays a Katabatik/SPAZ combo party in the SFBAY, a fundraiser for Mutant Fest later this summer. Katabatik.org for more info. Then Split Horizon catches a quick flight to NYC to meet up with the rest of the From the Gut core for Saturation, our solstice transformed space event. A first of its kind for From the Gut, taking our ideas of transformed space our of Detroit, this promises to be a special evening of art, sculpture, and sound. Check press release linked under tactical media for more info! Note: We lost some data in a mess up by our web hosting company, so we're just reposting this now - sorry for any confusion.
4.22.2010 - Mid Spring
Anyone who attended Deep Core already knows what a great success this event was. Together with our most slamming artists we rocked the dance floor and made a number of new friends while packing the Trumbellplex. Huge thanks to everyone that supported this event, either through hard work or simply attendence and vibrant energy. We've put up an Archive Page for Deep Core on the FTG site. We also need to announce the printing of The Dancing Star, a new zine exposing some of the theory behind our practice. It's really moving to see where things are heading. Through Split Horizon's relocation to the West Coast we hope to expand our efforts and effects, and bring more exciting events to the table. To keep up, you can check back here or better yet subscribe to our email list (on the right of this page). Following us on facebook also works, but we've found that joining the email list is better in the long run so we don't loose touch as these social media sites pass out of fashion. Check the April 2010 Void News for more info on what is cooking!

10.15.2009 - Autumn
Time for a quick update to confirm that VOID011 - Realicide 'The Choice is Yours' E.P. will be out in time for our East Coast tour together in just 2 weeks! This collaborative effort is a bit of a departure from the sound Void Tactical has been working recently, but releasing on the more experimental Void imprint we stay true to the hard electronics that have inspired and driven our work for so long. This E.P. contains 4 of Realicide's signature gabberpunk tracks reworked into longer forms to be utilized by the capable DJ. Available very soon - don't miss out, or preorder shortly in our online store.

9.29.2009 - Early Autumn
It has been a busy and tumultuous summer, filled with many show, challenges, and triumphs. In June the Void team returned to one of the founding concepts of the From the Gut collective, putting together a full scale transformed space event title 'Threshold Experience.' Weaving art, sculpture, electronics, and music together while exploring themes of psychological suspension of time alongside the long days of the summer solstice, Threshold Experience was one of our most successful collective efforts yet. Jstat and Deadlines also made the trip to Chicago to play a couple slamming shows and perform live on the radio - a recording of which we have released on cd as Void 10. Later in the summer we were also glad to welcome many friends old and new to town for a string of solid shows over labor day weekend, celebrating the growing electronic music community nationwide. As the autumn begins, Split Horizon is once again on the road for a Pacific Northwest tour with our own Dimentia, a party in Los Angeles with solid allies Darkmatter Soundsystem, and an East Coast tour with Robert Inhuman celebrating the imminent release of Realicide's E.P. on Void. As winter slowly approaches, Void Soundsystem continues to go strong into the colder months with friends from Pittsburgh making the trip to Detroit. We also should very shortly have the Dimentia/Split Horizon 12" finally in the words as Void Tactical Media 002, as well as a 7" from Redrot and several other releases that are waiting in the wings. Thanks everyone for your support!
4.21.2009 - Spring
This Spring many things are afoot at Void Tactical and there is much work to do. We're working to quickly populate our new site with a heavy dose of usefull media - ideas, sounds and imagery. Check back often - this is the place to stay up to date. we'll shortly see the deployment of our new digital series Form & Structure - aimed at getting our sound onto dancefloors quickly - and also the new Killx8 cd kicks off what will be a series of releases supporting material to be released on vinyl later this year. Further information will be available shortly, things are moving fast! In the meantime check out tracks in the player and recent words from Split Horizon on local radio station WDET, expressing as always our committement to alternative and critical engagement with technology.
